P V Gangadharan, Industrialist par excellence and one of the most prolific producers in Malayalam cinema, was born in Calicut, as the son of late Smt. Madhavi Sami & Sri. P V Sami (founder of KTC group of industries, a leading industrialist and veteran freedom fighter).
Popularly known as PVG in the film industry, Sri. P.V. Gangadharan set up his own home production house 'Grihalakshmi Films' in 1977. He marked his presence in the film industry when he launched his first Malayalam film
'SUJATHA' . PVG has since then produced 22, popular mainstream Malayalam motion pictures, under his home banner.

Under his captaincy the 'Grihalakshmi Films' achieved enviable heights and has come out as a fully integrated broad based entertainment company.  The Grihalakshmi brand name has become a household name and enjoys the goodwill of people in the Malayalam film industry. At present Grihalakshmi Films is one of the leading and most respected integrated media and entertainment companies in Kerala, which has established its credentials as an industry trend setter, innovator and trial blazer for its cutting edge creativity, exceptional finesse and professional approach to business. All the films produced by him under this banner were highly successful and immensely liked by the family audience. Many of these films apart from being successful in box office, had also won several National and International recognitions for spreading socially relevant themes and messages through the medium of cinema.

P V Gangadharan, a versatile personality, is also an eminent industrialist and social activist apart from being a renowned film producer. He had held several leading and key positions in the social, cultural, political and educational field and had made significant contribution for the overall growth and development in these spheres. During the last three decades, he held charge of the following positions in the film industry.

Mrs. P.V. Sherien, daughter of former Advocate General Sri. Ratna SinghMrs. Shenuga Jaythilak, Mrs. Shegna Vigil and Mrs. Sherga Sandeep are his three daughters. Eminent industrialist, Sri. P.V. Chandran, Chairman of KTC Group of Companies and Managing Editor of Mathrubhumi Publications is the brother of PVG. Smt. Kumari Kamalam, W/o. Dr. T.K. Jayaraj, MD, PVS Hospital, Kozhikode is the sister of Mr. PV. Gangadharan.
